Location
Centre for Mathematical Sciences is situated in West Cambridge, approximately 15 minutes walk from the centre of Cambridge. The Universal bus service runs a regular service from the train station and the centre of town and has a stop, Storey's Way, which is just outside the CMS site.
The closest airport to Cambridge is Stansted. Regular trains run from Stansted and also from King's Cross/St Pancras (for transfer from the Eurostar) to Cambridge.
Timings
The Conference will begin at 9.00 am on Monday 23rd March and end at 12 noon on Friday 27th March after the final talk. Note there is a free afternoon on Wednesday and there will be no lunch provided on this day at CMS.
Refreshment breaks will take place mid-morning and mid-afternoon with lunch being served between 12-2.30pm.
WiFi Access
eduroam and wifi is widely available in CMS (and around the University). If you have set up eduroam at your home institution, it should work automatically.
For those without eduroam settings for home institution can use the UniOfCam-Guest wifi network. Visitor will need to register using an email account or social media account.
Accommodation
Accommodation for invited speakers has been reserved at the Moller Institute which is in the grounds of Churchill College a short walk to the Department. Other accommodation may be found at UniversityRooms. Cambridge is a very busy tourist destination so you are advised to book accommodation in good time, further accommodation can be found on the Tourist Information pages.
Getting around
Universal is the frequent (every 15 minutes or so) bus link from Girton and Eddington in West Cambridge to the historic city centre, rail station and Biomedical Campus in the south. The most convenient stop to the CMS site is Storeys Way/Madingley Road, just ask the driver. The bus can be caught from various points see map
Uber cabs are numerous and a local taxi cab is Veezu, Call 01223 715 715
Eating
There are many eateries in the City Centre. In the market place there are lots of stalls selling all manner of international dishes. There is a cafe on site at CMS open from 8.30pm to 3pm selling hot drinks and snacks. A buffet lunch will be provided Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (Wednesday is a free afternoon so no lunch) with refreshment breaks serving tea and coffee in the morning and afternoon (again not Wednesday afternoon) .
