DEADLINES FOR INDEPENDENT FELLOWSHIP APPLICATIONS TO DPMMS

Applications for DPMMS to host  independent postdoctoral Fellowships should be received well in advance of funder deadlines. To go through our internal evaluation and approval process visit our postdoc opportunities page for more details. We request that we receive (by e-mail to the Head of Department)  draft applications (comprising a CV, outline research proposal, name of Cambridge Faculty host mentor and names of two referees we may contact) by

  • July 30th for Royal Society URF & Marie-Curie applications;
  • September 30th for Dorothy Hodgkin;
  • October 10th for  Leverhulme;
  • October 30th for Royal Commission of 1851)

Applications for EPSRC Postdoctoral Fellowships are accepted at all deadlines. If your fellowship has a timeline which is not compatible with the dates listed above,  for instance involving funding from an overseas government or philanthropic foundation, then please reach out directly to the Head of Department. The requirement for a minimum of 6 weeks of processing time between receipt of the listed materials for consideration for approval to host and the funder's  deadline for receipt of a full application remains strict in all cases.

  1. Candidates applying to any independent postdoc at DPMMS are advised to be in touch with the Head of Department about their intention as early as possible, and to also ask their host mentor to write some paragraphs of support to the HoD, as well as submitting their materials in advance of the deadline;
  2.  candidates wishing to be supported for any independent fellowship should ask their nominated referees to write directly to the HoD by our deadline;
  3.  specifically for Leverhulme Early Career fellowships, we would like all the materials discussed at   https://www.newtontrust.cam.ac.uk/ECFs/LeverhulmeECF/Leverhulmedepts/LECFnational to be included in an application.
