Unlike rational maps, transcendental entire functions can have wandering domains. Whether one can have a bounded orbit has been a long-standing open question from Hayman’s Research Problems in Complex Analysis. Building on Ye’s new elementary proof of Sullivan’s no wandering domains theorem (the subject of last week’s talk), two groups have independently shown that such domains cannot exist. I will present the proof and discuss it's consequences for transcendental dynamics.
