Special Lagrangian submanifolds form an important class of minimal submanifolds in Calabi–Yau manifolds. However, relatively few examples are known in compact Calabi–Yau manifolds, largely due to our limited understanding of the behavior of Calabi–Yau metrics. In this talk, we present a construction of special Lagrangian 3-spheres in Calabi–Yau 3-folds equipped with a K3 fibration, in the regime where the K3 fibers collapse. Moreover, under the adiabatic limit, these special Lagrangians converge in the Gromov–Hausdorff sense to an interval. This phenomenon is analogous to the behavior of holomorphic curves in Calabi–Yau manifolds with collapsing special Lagrangian fibrations, which Gromov–Hausdorff converge to tropical curves, and can be viewed as a first glimpse of the Donaldson–Scaduto conjecture. We will also discuss connections with the Thomas–Yau conjecture.
