Lampros Gavalakis

I am an INFORMED AI Hub Postdoctoral Research Associate based in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, at the University of Cambridge. From November 2022 to September 2024 I was postdoctoral fellow of the MathInGreaterParis programme, cofunded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions.

I received my Ph.D. from the Engineering Department of the University of Cambridge, where I was working in the Signal Processing and Communications Laboratory and was a member of Darwin College. I obtained my undergraduate degree in computer science from Athens University of Economics and Business.

I am broadly interested in information theory and its connections with probability, additive combinatorics, and convex analysis, as well as its applications to data compression, communications, and statistics. I am particularly interested in questions related to entropy growth statements and their stability.
