This is a book by Liddell and Scott
Liddell wrote little and Scott wrote a lot
Liddell wrote sense and Scott did not.
Therefore this book is largely rot!

I found this in a copy of Liddell and Scott at my boarding school. Why do i still remember it after more than fifty years? (Liddell was the father of Alice, of the Alice books).
Google finds the following, which must surely be the source:

This is a book by Liddell and Scott;
Part of it's good and part of it's not.
The part that was good was written by Scott;
the part that was written by Liddell is not.
