Set Theory in the United Kingdom is a research network in set theory
that was formed in 2018 and has been funded by two Scheme 3 grants of the London Mathematical Society and an INI Network Support grant
by the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences.
The members of the network are the Universities of Bristol, Cambridge, East Anglia,
Leeds, Oxford, Warwick and University College London. The current coordinators are
Sam Coskey (UCL),
Asaf Karagila (Leeds),
and Benedikt Löwe (Cambridge).
STUK 19 is the nineteenth installment of the series and will be held in the School
of Mathematics at the University of Leeds, in the MALL on level 8: when
walking to the University of Leeds campus from the train station, you'll reach Willow
Terrace road, and pass by our sports centre the Edge. When you reach the Pond, turn right
and walk up the staircase and you'll see the entrance to the School of Mathematics on your
left. The route to the MALL will be clearly signposted from reception—start by
heading down the stairs to your right in the foyer.
Find map of the campus.

Information about financial matters.
To make the
most of there being lots of set theorists visiting Leeds that week, we'll be starting STUK
earlier in the day to allow for an extra talk. We have therefore secured extra funding to allow
attendees to stay in Leeds the night before. If funds allow, we may also be able to cover
staying in Leeds on Friday night, but note that the primary use of the extra funding is for
Hotel stays the night before.
- Train travel and food can be claimed through STUK as usual, please let Benedikt know in
advance if you'll claim travel costs, and send your receipts for this to him afterwards to
be reimbursed.
- Let Hope know at mmhid(at)leeds.ac.uk if you need a hotel the night before, you should book this
in advance and can claim it back afterwards. If paying out of pocket for this would cause
any financial difficulty, let Hope know. Receipts for the Hotel should be sent to Hope, and
you will be reimbursed after STUK.
- We are able to fund Hotel stays of up to &sterling; 70, here are some recommendations that are currently
within that price bracket (you should book in advance to avoid price hikes!):
ibis Leeds Centre Marlborough Street,
Discovery Inn—Leeds,
easyHotel Leeds.
- If you are interested in giving an informal talk, please let Rae
know at
lzml0213(at)leeds.ac.uk.
