The windows at the front of the house have now been replaced. There were a total of five old sash windows, three on the ground floor in the bay and two upstairs in the bedroom. They were rather rickety and poorly insulated. They would rattle whenever the wind blew or a vehicle passed by, and a lot of sound would come through them. The new windows are still sash windows; there is little choice in a conservation area and like has to be replaced with like in order to avoid planning issues. There is a vast improvement in terms of rattling, and some improvement in terms of sound insulation.

Here are some photographs of the work:

No windows!

Some nice rot!
