September
5th 2005
The meeting will begin at
2pm and will feature talks by Terence Tao (UCLA) on ''Ergodic Theory, Arithmetic Progressions and the Primes'' and by Vitaly Bergelson (Ohio
State) on ''Ergodic Ramsey Theory and Properties of Large Sets''.
September
5th-9th 2005
Featuring mini lecture series by Tim Gowers, Ben
Green, Roger Heath-Brown*, Bernard Host, Imre Ruzsa and Terence Tao.
Invited lectures by Vitaly
Bergelson, Ernie Croot, Sergei Konyagin, Imre Leader, Alexander Leibman, Elon Lindenstrauss, Alex Samorodnitsky, Mathias Schacht, and Ilya Shkredov.
The concern of the workshop
will be the many different methods (harmonic analysis, combinatorics and
ergodic theory) used to study arithmetic progressions, as well as recent
applications to number theory.
