Combinatorics in Cambridge

August 4th to 7th 2003

Travel Information

Conference participants will be housed in Trinity College, which is where they should go on arrival in Cambridge. The lectures will take place in the CMS (Centre for Mathematical Sciences), less than 1km from Trinity via a walk through gardens.

Maps of the area, together with local travel information, can be found on the travel page of the DPMMS web site. (DPMMS is the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics and is housed in the CMS).

The same page has a link to the Cambridge University visitors page, which has detailed information about travel to Cambridge.

Cambridge is about 2 hours away from Heathrow Airport (train or bus) and Gatwick Airport (train), and about 1 hour away from Stansted Airport (train or bus). Fares are £10-£25 (a little more at rush-hour).

Car parking

Please note that car parking space is essentially non-existent at Trinity or at the CMS. Car parking on the streets is also pretty hopeless. There is a pay car park near Trinity but it is not cheap for long stays. There is a Park-and-Ride park on the west edge of the town, not far from the CMS, visible on the city area map on the travel page above. But the basic message is that car parking is a problem.
