Using SSH to connect to DPMMS
SSH Fingerprints
The first time you connect to a machine (or when something changes) ssh will ask you to confirm the fingerprint of the remote host. https://www.dpmms.cam.ac.uk/Computing/ssh.fingerprints.txt contains the DPMMS fingerprints. If asked you should check the fingerprint given against the list in this file.
Our ssh_known_hosts file is available at https://www.dpmms.cam.ac.uk/Computing/ssh_known_hosts
Getting ssh
Mac and Linux machines come with ssh.
Windows
As of April 2011, this link points at the latest version of putty.
The keys for individual machines are also available from https://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/secure-docs/remote/byhost/<machinename.dpmms.cam.ac.uk.reg> (on the *damtp* website) in a form which may be easier to use with putty.
