Abstract. The orbits of adjoint action of the complex form of compact semisimple Lie group are identified with moduli spaces for `dimensionally reduced' instantons. The identification goes via spaces of bounded solutions of Nahm's system of ordinary differential equations. We deduce that any complex adjoint orbit carries a natural family of hyper-Kählerian structures.
